As of the writing of this article, our current Matlab version (i.e., in the path) is 7.4.0.287 (R2007a). I’ve installed the latest version, 7.6.0.324 (R2008a), and its available to all URC cluster users for testing!
If you would like to try out the latest version, you will have to full-path it at the commandline:
/apps/pkg/matlab-R2008a/bin/matlab
