Facilities

ChargerNet

a campus grid computing network. As the initial component of a campus grid environment, URC has deployed a Linux-based high performance computing cluster that is freely available to all campus research faculty.

Partnership Program

A cooperative program to allow faculty to purchase additional resources (to support their own research) to be added to URC facilities. URC covers some of the costs and provides administrative support and in exchange the owner allows the idle cycles to become part of the shared resource pool.

About Us

University Research Computing (URC) is one of several support groups within Information & Technology Services (ITS). Our mission is to support the unique computing needs of UNC Charlotte's diverse community of research faculty by developing shared computing facilities and offering specialized services that would be difficult for individual research groups or departments to provide internally.
